What Makes C Mauritius Unique

The C Spirit

C Mauritius offers a different way to experience a vacation in Mauritius. Fewer rules, fewer formalities, and more freedom. A resort where you can go from the beach to an adventure around the island, enjoy water sports, share a delicious meal, or end the day with your feet in the sand. Behind this relaxed atmosphere lies the expertise of Constance Hotels & Resorts, reinterpreted here from a younger, more active, and spontaneous perspective. C Trek, its sports experiences, and its “barefoot” philosophy give it a personality all its own: Mauritius lived, not simply admired.

The Hotel

C Mauritius is located in Palmar, on the east coast of Mauritius, directly facing a long white-sand beach and the turquoise waters of the lagoon. Part of the C Resorts collection by Constance Hotels & Resorts, the property offers a contemporary and laid-back concept, with a more informal atmosphere than that of the company’s traditional resorts. It features 116 rooms, spread across different categories with views of the garden or the ocean, and combines island-inspired architecture with open spaces and a natural, light-filled decor.

As of 2027, the resort offers half-board accommodations, allowing guests to enjoy its culinary offerings at its various restaurants and bars. The resort also features outdoor pools, a spa, a fitness center, and a wide range of sports and water activities. Its location allows guests to combine the tranquility of Palmar with exploring some of the most attractive spots on Mauritius’s east coast, such as Belle Mare and Île aux Cerfs. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is approximately 50 km away, with a travel time of about one hour.

Wok ’n’ Roll · An Asian dinner by the sea
This is probably the restaurant most worthy of mention as a dining experience. It’s a more intimate space, with seating for only 40, offering à la carte service and Asian fusion cuisine, located right on the beach.

Cpicerie · Eat whenever you feel like it
Inspired by a small épicerie or village market, it functions as a deli and café, offering casual snacks throughout the day: pastries, waffles, drinks, and a variety of other items. It’s one of C Resorts’ “Cignature” experiences and perfectly embodies that vacation philosophy of no strict schedules or formalities.

Beach Bistro · Lunch without leaving the beach
A casual spot by the sea designed specifically so you can eat or have a drink without leaving the beach atmosphere behind. It’s a great place to combine a light lunch with a day by the lagoon, and—depending on the hotel’s schedule—it can also serve as a venue for music and events.

Wine Cellar · Discover New Wines
C Mauritius also features a wine cellar with a selection of over 50 international wines, and the brand places special emphasis on biodynamic wines. It’s a small detail, but it helps elevate the dining experience beyond the typical casual resort concept.

Activities and excursions

Experiences You Can't Miss

C Trek · Discover Mauritius on Foot
One of the most distinctive experiences at C Mauritius. Once a week, the hotel organizes a guided hike to Le Pouce, one of Mauritius’s most iconic mountains. The experience includes transportation from the hotel and a backpack with water, fruit, and snacks. More than just a simple excursion, it allows you to leave the coast behind for a few hours and explore the island’s mountainous interior on foot.

Kitesurfing · Making the Most of the East Coast Winds
C Mauritius’s location in Palmar makes the wind part of the experience. The resort features a dedicated area for kitesurfing and kitefoiling, offering guests the chance to learn or practice these sports right in front of the hotel. In fact, this connection to the wind is so important to C Mauritius that the resort hosts its own C Kite Festival, bringing together international riders and enthusiasts.

Sessions by the C · Sunset with Music
Several afternoons a week, the beach takes on a whole new vibe with Sessions by the C: music and DJs, cocktails, and a relaxed atmosphere right by the ocean. It’s probably one of the experiences that best captures the spirit of the hotel: casual, social, and with your feet in the sand.

The Palmar Lagoon · A Great Playground
Kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, and pedal boats let you enjoy the lagoon right in front of the resort. C Mauritius is particularly committed to the concept of “play,” so many of these activities are part of everyday life at the hotel and can be combined with beach volleyball, beach soccer, tennis, or padel.

C Spa · Get back to a more relaxed pace
After a day at the beach or an active day, C Spa offers massages, body treatments, and yoga sessions. The hotel also features a fitness center and a weekly program of activities such as circuit training, stretching, and functional exercises.

Cpicerie · The more casual side of C
It’s not exactly an activity, but Cpicerie is one of the brand’s “Cignatures.” It’s a small épicerie/deli where you can enjoy a coffee or a croissant, or find local products and put together a picnic. It reinforces that sense of freedom and lack of formality that sets C Mauritius apart.

What to See in the Surrounding Area

Staying at C Mauritius allows you to discover one of the most attractive and peaceful areas of Mauritius. The east coast is known for its long beaches, vast lagoons of turquoise water, small coastal villages, and landscapes that remain deeply rooted in local life. From Palmar, it’s easy to alternate days of relaxation by the sea with excursions to discover another side of the island.

Nearby is Belle Mare, known for its long white-sand beach, while the small coastal village of Trou d’Eau Douce is one of the main gateways to Île aux Cerfs. This small island is one of Mauritius’s all-time favorites, offering a combination of beaches, a lagoon, water sports, and a spectacular 18-hole golf course designed by Bernhard Langer.

A boat tour also allows you to travel up the Grand River Southeast to its waterfall, often combined with a day trip to Île aux Cerfs. To the north, Bras d’Eau National Park offers a completely different landscape, with trails winding through ancient volcanic terrain and forest, and is also one of the island’s best spots for birdwatching.

To get a feel for everyday life in Mauritius, it’s worth visiting Flacq and its market—one of the island’s largest—where tropical fruits, spices, vegetables, textiles, and small local stalls offer a much more authentic glimpse of Mauritius.

A little further south, The Ferney Valley It allows you to explore a conservation area of native forest and discover the natural riches of the island’s interior on foot. Thus, from C Mauritius, it’s easy to combine the sea, nature, local culture, and small adventures, making your stay in Palmar much more than just a beach vacation.

An Extraordinary Journey
I highly recommend it—the service is direct, clear, and friendly. Sylvia, Jaume, and Sergi are lovely. Small, well-organized groups. Santa, our guide, is the best. And Madagascar—with its lemurs, its baobabs, its people, and its landscapes—stole my heart; I don't know which one to choose. A dream come true!! We're really looking forward to going back and exploring more parts of the island. And we'll definitely be doing it with Indigo Be!!!

An authentic experience
I chose the "Baobab Expedition" itinerary with Indigo Be, and it was a truly unforgettable experience... Indigo Be is a travel agency run by young professionals who love Madagascar and know it inside and out, and who share their passion and enthusiasm for the country with travelers. Our guide, Jaume, has ensured that everything ran smoothly day after day, thanks to his efficiency and kindness. Thanks to the entire team of professionals at Indigo Be, and a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Jaume "for a job well done." A big hug!!!!!

A unique, surprising, and unforgettable island
Madagascar—it sounds like a faraway place, an animated movie, and impossible animals. It’s all that, and also a little-visited island nation that exudes African spirit, softened by Asian influences. Canoe down a river through jungle canyons and sleep on its beaches, safe from crocodiles; venture deep into the jungle and listen to the sounds of its most distinctive animals, the lemurs; dive among tropical fish with the sound of humpback whales in the background; strolling at sunset along an avenue lined with giant baobabs; discovering breathtaking rock formations shaped like thousands of needles; savoring seafood seasoned with a touch of French influence; or simply strolling along a beach, waiting for the fishermen to return. All of that is Madagascar. Madagascar promises a break from it all, adventure, and exoticism... and with Indigo Be, you can have it all! Thank you for being such wonderful hosts on this unique, amazing, and unforgettable island.
