A classic in Mauritius.
Belle Mare Plage was Constance's first hotel, opened in 1975 with just ten bungalows on this very coast. It is, quite literally, where the group's history in the hotel industry began.
On the sun-drenched east coast of Mauritius, nestled among tropical gardens, an endless white-sand beach, and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, Constance Belle Mare Plage invites you to enjoy the island at a leisurely pace. Here, days begin facing the ocean, and every traveler finds their own rhythm: sailing on the lagoon, discovering new flavors, indulging in the spa’s wellness treatments, or simply walking barefoot along the shore.
For golf lovers, the experience takes on a whole new dimension. Its two 18-hole courses, Legend and Links, make the resort one of the premier golf destinations in the Indian Ocean, where a round is played amid lagoons, tropical vegetation, and scenery that are all part of the experience. And for those who don’t play, there’s everything else: two kilometers of beach, fine dining, nature, and that unmistakable Mauritian art of living.

- The East Coast of Mauritius · Its location in Belle Mare offers a greener, more tropical coastline, with long beaches lined with casuarina trees. The hotel is about 60 km from the international airport, approximately one hour by car.
- An icon of the Mauritian hospitality industry · It was here, in Belle Mare, that Constance’s history in the hotel industry began in 1975—a detail that gives it a special identity within the collection.
The Hotel
Constance Belle Mare Plage is a 5-star resort located on the east coast of Mauritius, facing a magnificent 2-kilometer-long white-sand beach protected by a coral reef. The resort spans nearly 15 hectares of tropical gardens, with low-rise architecture that allows its 278 rooms, suites, and villas to blend seamlessly into the landscape while maintaining a pleasant sense of space.
Accommodations range from 45 m² Prestige Rooms to spacious Junior Suites, Deluxe Suites, and two- and three-bedroom villas with private pools, culminating in a spectacular five-bedroom, 852 m² Presidential Villa. The resort also features four swimming pools, a spa, comprehensive sports facilities, and a wide range of land- and water-based activities.
Cuisine is another of its major attractions, with eight restaurants and eight bars that allow guests to discover different styles and flavors, ranging from Indian Ocean specialties to Mediterranean cuisine, sushi, and more sophisticated dining options. Among its most unique venues is the Blue Penny Cellar, an exceptional wine cellar housing around 30,000 bottles from 2,500 wineries.
One of its main distinguishing features is golf: guests enjoy access to Legend and Links,
two 18-hole championship courses, making Constance Belle Mare Plage one of the premier golf resorts in the Indian Ocean. It offers a particularly well-rounded experience for couples, families, and golf enthusiasts, where the beach, sports, dining, and wellness come together within a single resort.
Experiences You Can't Miss
Constance Belle Mare Plage offers a particularly wide range of sports, and many activities are included for guests. At the water sports center, you can go water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, kayaking, pedal boating, Hobie Cat sailing, and sailing, as well as take glass-bottom boat tours and guided snorkeling excursions with equipment included.
On land, there are four lighted tennis courts, petanque, table tennis, and a 9-hole mini-golf course, as well as a gym. The sports program also includes group activities such as yoga, Pilates, aerobics, and aqua aerobics. Private lessons are available in tennis, water skiing, windsurfing, sailing, kitesurfing, and golf.
Golf · One of its main attractions
The resort offers play on Legend and Links, two 18-hole championship courses. Legend is a par-72 course measuring 6,018 m, while Links is a par-71 course measuring 5,942 m. Facilities include a driving range, a Golf Academy, a Pro Shop, equipment rentals, and a free shuttle service for guests. A weekly group golf introduction session is also organized.
Legend is particularly appealing because of its setting: it winds through a former hunting reserve and native forest, incorporating ponds and water hazards until it reaches the spectacular 17th hole right by the ocean. It is also an international competition course.
Scuba Diving
The Blues Diving Center offers introductory dives in the pool and lagoon, dives for certified divers, refresher dives, night dives, and wreck dives, as well as PADI and CMAS courses for various levels. It also organizes authentic diving safaris to dive sites along the north, west, and southeast coasts of Mauritius.
