April 22nd, Happy International EARTH Day
Some images to reflect on the role of human beings in general and how we can also contribute our grain of sand as travelers in particular.
The new Netflix proposal was filmed over four years, during which 50 countries on all continents were visited. Several chapters mention Madagascar’ s great biodiversity and its fragile ecosystem. The series shows the different habitats that exist around the world, from the most remote corners of the Arctic, to the depths of the oceans, to the vast landscapes of Africa and the varied jungles of South America.
In the first episode, “One Planet,” viewers will travel from the rainforests of Brazil to the Svalbard Archipelago in Norway and discover how these fragile ecosystems are connected to each other and why they are essential to the development of life on Earth. In the following seven episodes, viewers will discover some of the most amazing habitats: icy worlds, jungles, seas, deserts, grasslands, oceans, lakes and forests.
The development of the series involved a technical team of more than 600 professionals, including some of the best cinematographers, researchers and scientists in the world, as well as the latest 4K camera technology.
The English version will be voiced by Sir David Attenborough, while Salma Hayek will be the narrator for Latin America and Penélope Cruz for Spain.
Our Planet is produced by Silverback Films, Ltd. in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The producers of the series are Alastair Fothergill and Keith Scholey.
THANKS TO SILVERBACK FILMS, ALASTAIR FOTHERGILL, KEITH SCHOLEY AND PENELOPE CRUZ FOR THIS GREAT WORK.
