If you want an exceptional trip, but you categorically renounce to lie under a coconut tree (at least every day 🙂 ), opting for Madagascar is an excellent way to find the balance and fulfill the dreams of each of you since you can combine activities, such as visiting its national parks in search of lemurs, with paradisiacal beaches.
In any of the Indian Ocean islands you can lie in a hammock, enjoy the pleasure of “dolce far niente”, sunbathe in the sun to recharge your batteries or enjoy incredible hotels in unforgettable places where you can write a new chapter of your love story.

This route combines the jungles of Andasibe, Mantadia and Mitsinjo to meet the famous Indri-Indri, the largest lemur on the planet, with a beach stay in the unspoiled and isolated Anjajavy peninsula.
More and more travelers are asking us for “Luxury” routes for their honeymoon in the Indian Ocean. Many of you as an extension to a safari in Kenya or South Africa. This one in particular, perfectly combines the exploration of endemic fauna and flora with a beach stay in a charming accommodation like this Relais Châteaux, which has a private reserve where you can easily observe lemurs, baobabs, turtles, seabed and experience an immersion in the Malagasy culture.
Itinerary
DAY 1
ARRIVAL ANTANANARIVO
Arrival at the capital’s airport, visa procedures, reception by the Spanish-speaking IndigoBe staff guide, private transfer to the hotel in a 4×4 vehicle. Welcome cocktail, delivery of information material and brief briefing of the next stage.

DAY 2
ANTANANARIVO / ANDASIBE NATIONAL PARK
Breakfast and departure to Andasibe National Park. Today, our journey to the east of the island will take us during the first part of the trip through a landscape of rice fields to the rainforests of this region inhabited by the Bezanozano ethnic group. We will be able to observe the famous ravinala, the traveler’s tree, symbol of Madagascar. We will have lunch in the town of Moramanga, a crossroads between several secondary roads and an important confluence of ethnic groups from the east of the island. We will visit its lively market and continue to Andasibe National Park. Installation at the lodge and at the scheduled time, night visit of the Private Reserve, where we will appreciate various species of endemic fauna of the tropical rainforest as the endearing microcebu.

DAY 3
ANDASIBE NATIONAL PARK
Breakfast and departure to Analamazaotra National Park (Andasibe National Park) where we will have a walking tour of ± 4 hours, to observe the largest lemur of the island, the famous Indri-Indri as well as chameleons, frogs, tree ferns, pandanus, etc. …. After picnic lunch, continuation to Mantadia National Park, where we will discover other species of lemurs such as the Varecia Variegata or the Propithecus Diadema, as well as the largest chameleon of the island, the Calumma Parsonii. Return to the lodge.

DAY 4
ANDASIBE NATIONAL PARK / MITSINJO RESERVE / ANTANANARIVO
Early breakfast and visit to the Mitsinjo Reserve to meet the Indris and listen to their emotional morning communication cry. It is a reserve managed by the Mitsinjo Association, created by the local community and supported by several European environmental associations. After the visit, return to Antananarivo, lunch and installation in the Executive Suite.

Breakfast and private transfer to Ivato airport for flight to Anjajavy. Arrival at Anjajavy airfield, reception and transfer to the lodge. Installation in our Villa and free time to discover this corner of natural paradise.

MORAMBA BAY
Breakfast and motor boat excursion to Moramba Bay, our particular “Halong Bay”. We will explore this breathtaking landscape of the northwest coast of Madagascar, with its centuries-old baobabs, wild beaches and small mushroom-shaped islets. With luck we will be able to observe the Haliaeetus vociferoides, an imposing eagle endemic to the island that is on the verge of extinction. We will have the necessary equipment to snorkel in the seabed of the bay. Return to the lodge, lunch and free time to rest or enjoy the beach or swimming pool. You are invited to tea at 5 pm in the beautiful garden “L’Oasis” where many lemurs will be curious to meet us.

ANJAJAVY PENINSULA
Breakfast and departure to the baobab avenue of Marobozo. Along the way we may encounter a group of lemurs such as the propithecus as well as various species of birds, reptiles and endemic flora typical of habitats such as mangroves and dry forest. Return to the lodge and free afternoon to enjoy the beach or swimming pool. At dusk, we will go on a night safari in the private reserve where we will observe species of lemurs such as microcebus, lepilemurs, chameleons…
Be+: A picnic lunch in a private cove, just for the 2 of you.

ANJAJAY PENINSULA
Breakfast and visit of the giant tortoise reintroduction center of Antafiamora as well as a small grotto at the foot of magnificent tsingys or the village of Ambondro-Ampasy where we will visit the school of the NGO Écoles du Monde, meet the local population and their “savoir-faire” in the construction of traditional canoes. Activity of choice.
Be+: Tonight you will see the stars. The Star Bed in a private cove. A romantic outdoor dinner and an open-air room set on a small cliff. A unique experience where you can write the first page of your new love story.

ANJAJAY PENINSULA
Breakfast and free day on the Anjajavy peninsula. We will be able to choose between several options: walking along marked trails on our own in order to continue exploring the private reserve, snorkeling, kayaking, water skiing, Hobie Cat16, beach-volley, soccer, badminton…
After lunch, a boat ride to discover the wonders of this peninsula. On our return, an hour massage with Malagasy essential oils for deep relaxation.
Don’t forget that you are invited every day to the 5:00 pm tea at the Jardin L’Oasis.
Be+: A romantic dinner will be served on the beach or at L’Oasis.

Breakfast and transfer to Anjajavy airfield for flight to the capital. Arrival, reception by the Indigo Be staff guide and transfer to the hotel. Panoramic tour of the capital from the famous “Haute-ville” and the Museum of Photography or Foundation H for a more cultural and artistic vision of the island. Visit of the handicraft market of La Digue for the last purchases. Return to the hotel.

The order of the visits and excursions can be modified according to local constraints (air schedules, runway or road conditions, for example). If certain visits and/or excursions cannot be carried out for any reason beyond our control, we will try to substitute them whenever possible.
CHARACTERISTICS OF OUR TRIPS
Our trips are designed from knowledge, we have been residents on the island for more than 18 years (2006-2024) and our team carries out more than 17 annual surveys throughout the geography of the island, to verify on the ground the state of parks, trails, hotels, new developments and discover new treasures that are still hidden in our island-continent and that for the moment we try to preserve until we have a policy of environmental protection. Our update is almost daily.
Any tour in Madagascar leaves room for the unexpected, hence we ask for your flexibility in approaching the trip as travelers and not as conventional tourists.
To participate in our trips, a minimum level of physical fitness is required, otherwise you will not be able to enjoy the parks, landscapes, or some of the animist villages farther away from the conventional routes.
Our adventure trips are not for everyone, they are participatory trips, in which you will not be made to row or wash your cutlery, for this we give employment to the local population, however, we want your passage through the island to cause the least possible impact, neither environmental nor social, that is where we ask for your collaboration.
The hotels are varied, from some 5* to simple lodges, depending on the hotel infrastructure. Adventure is not incompatible with comfort, we will never camp (free camping is prohibited in Madagascar, it is only possible in “authorized” places although they do not have any infrastructure similar to a campsite, no toilets or showers) if right next door we have a minimally correct accommodation and that our passage can benefit the local population. We always try to include the best hotels available, but sometimes we are forced to use simple lodges because the location does not have more hotel infrastructure or because it is located in an exceptional place that deserves the stay.
Madagascar does not have a tourist infrastructure like neighboring countries in their safaris, but that gives it the charm of an unspoiled and uncrowded country (150,000 tourists per year). We ask for an open spirit and large doses of patience to our travelers. That way you will enjoy your trip much more.
