An ideal trip to take with children, as this route offers easy viewing of the famous lemurs, as well as baobab trees and whales. We will land in Tulear to visit the Reniala Baobab Reserve and travel up the famous RN7 road, visiting the national parks of Zombitse, Isalo, Ranomafana, Mantadia, Analamazaotra (Andasibe), the tea plantations of Sahambavy, and the Anja Reserve along the way. We will continue through the Malagasy “Highlands” and their famous terraced rice fields to the capital. From there, we will head east, traveling through the Andasibe forest to observe the largest lemur on the island, the spectacular Indri-Indri. We will sail the Pangalanes Canal to the Palmarium Reserve to discover various species of lemurs such as the Varecia Variegata, or the Aye-Aye, carnivorous plants, orchids, endemic palm trees… To finish off, a few days on the paradise island of Sainte Marie will allow us to go on a marine safari to observe the humpback whales that swim in our waters from July to September on the east coast.

Tips
All our trips labeled “PRIVATE” will have all services exclusively available, except for some transfers provided by the hotel itself, which will be shared with other guests.
The order of visits and excursions may be modified depending on local circumstances (flight schedules, road or ski slope conditions, for example). If any visits and/or excursions cannot take place for reasons beyond our control, we will try to replace them whenever possible.
Due to high demand during Holy Week, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and the months of August, September, October, and November, we ask that you book as far in advance as possible, as places are very limited.
FEATURES OF OUR TRIPS
Our trips are designed based on our knowledge. We have been residents of the island for more than 18 years (2006-2024) and our team carries out more than 17 surveys a year throughout the island to check the condition of parks, trails, hotels, and new developments, and to discover new treasures that are still hidden on our island-continent and that we are currently trying to preserve until an environmental protection policy is in place. remain hidden on our island-continent and which we are currently trying to preserve until an environmental protection policy is in place. We update our information on an almost daily basis.
Any tour in Madagascar leaves room for the unexpected, which is why we ask for your flexibility when it comes to traveling as travelers and not as conventional tourists.
To participate in our trips, a minimum level of physical fitness is required, otherwise you will not be able to enjoy the parks, landscapes, or some of the animist villages furthest from the conventional routes.
Our adventure trips are not for everyone. They are participatory trips, in which you will not be asked to row or wash your own dishes; we employ local people for that. However, we want your visit to the island to have as little impact as possible, both environmentally and socially, and that is where we ask for your cooperation.
The hotels vary from 5* to simple lodges, depending on the hotel infrastructure. Adventure is not incompatible with comfort. We will never camp (free camping is prohibited in Madagascar and is only possible in “authorized” places, although these do not have any infrastructure similar to a campsite, such as toilets or showers) if there is minimally adequate accommodation available nearby that benefits the local population. We always try to include the best hotels available, but on some occasions we are forced to use simple lodges because the location does not have any other hotel infrastructure or because it is in an exceptional setting that is well worth staying in.
Madagascar does not have the same tourist infrastructure as its neighboring countries for safaris, but this gives it the charm of an unspoiled and uncrowded country (150,000 tourists per year). We ask our travelers to keep an open mind and have a great deal of patience. This way, they will enjoy their trip much more.

Unique, surprising and unforgettable island
Madagascar; it sounds remote, like a cartoon movie and impossible animals. It is that, and also an island-country with little tourism that oozes African sap sweetened with Asian touches.
Descend a river between jungle canyons and sleep on its beaches protected from crocodiles; go deep into the jungle and listen to the sounds of its most characteristic animals, the lemurs; dive among tropical fish with the sound of humpback whales in the background; stroll at sunset along an avenue lined with giant baobabs; discover impressive rock formations in the shape of thousands of needles; taste seafood seasoned with French-influenced dyes or simply stroll along a beach waiting for the arrival of fishermen. All this is Madagascar.
Madagascar promises disconnection, adventure and exoticism…and with Indigo Be you get it!
Thank you for being wonderful hosts of this unique, surprising and unforgettable island.
