Itinerary Rates and Dates Extensions + Info
This route is pure adventure and perfectly combines the visit of natural parks with the discovery of the main ethnic groups of the south and west of the island. Listen to the emotional cry of the Indri in the Andasibe rainforest; travel the vertiginous via ferrata in the Tsingy de Bemaraha; cross the rainforests of the eastern corridor, land of Tanalas, on the Jungle Train; learn about the close relationship between man and the sea in the Vezo-Sakalava village of Betania; ascend Mount Chameleon and enjoy a spectacular view of the Andringitra massif; stroll along the iconic Avenue of the Baobabs or enter the canyons of Isalo National Park are some of the experiences you will live during this route. You can share agricultural tasks in Manandona, the Vakinkaratra region known as the "garden" of Madagascar; walk on immense granite stones in search of ring-tailed lemurs in the Anja Reserve or in the Ranomafana rainforest in search of the Propithecus Edwarsii, pure nature declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. And nothing better than ending this adventure than on one of the beaches proposed as an extension: Ifaty, Ankilibe, Manambo or Anakao.

Return to our vehicles that will take us back to Antsirabe. After lunch tour in Pousse-Pousse (similar to the rickshaws of India) to tour the historic center of the city. Visit of the Atsena Kely (small market) the Cathedral of Notre Dame de la Salette, Train Station, Ethnic Monument, as well as the countless buildings of the French colonial era such as the decadent Hotel des Thermes, where King Mohammed V stayed in his exile in 1953.

We will return navigating the gorges of the Manambolo River and its imposing cliffs. We will stop in two grottoes, one of them with beautiful formations of stalactites and stalagmites. We can also observe on a vertical wall an ancient vazimba tomb, the first settlers of the island. Lunch in a popular restaurant and in the afternoon visit of the “small” Tsingy de Bemaraha. This visit will serve to test our physical form and our reaction to heights and narrow passages. A magnificent preamble to tomorrow's stage. Return to the lodge.

Today holds an extraordinary discovery for us. After breakfast and provided with our harnesses, we will move in 4x4 to the natural entrance to the "Gran Tsingy de Bemaraha", where the visit of these unique karst formations will begin. The only ones in the world that have the necessary characteristics to be equipped with a via ferrata that allows the ascent to the top. We will carry out the Andamozavaky circuit of ± 4h duration (medium difficulty), in which we cross various labyrinths and grottoes, as well as gorges and suspension bridges. After the free picnic lunch, we will carry out another of the most spectacular circuits of the park, the Ranotsara of ±2h duration (medium difficulty), where giant calcareous cathedrals, deep cracks and a new suspension bridge will take us to the top of the tsingys.

An extraordinary journey
I totally recommend it, direct, clear and familiar treatment Sylvia, Jaume and Sergi are charming. Small, well-organized groups. Santa is a great guide. And Madagascar, with its lemurs, baobabs, people and landscapes, has stolen my heart, I don't know which one to choose. A dream come true! We can't wait to come back and discover other parts of the island. And certainly with Indigo Be!

Misaotra to the whole team, after 25 years of travel and having traversed a large part of Africa, you can feel flattered because it's the first time we've met such professional people who love their work and put so much passion into showing and sharing their country. Back home, we're trying to assimilate everything we've learned. Thank you Silvia for joining us on this fantastic trip, it was a privilege to have you as our guide, the group already saw that we got on well from day one, and the itinerary was incredible. We recommend the Baobab expedition to all travelers, challenging but intense.

An authentic experience
I chose the "Baobab Expedition" itinerary with Indigo Be and it was an unforgettable experience... Indigo Be is an agency of young professionals who love and know Madagascar and pass on their passion and enthusiasm for the country to travelers. Our guide, Jaume, made the day run smoothly thanks to his efficiency and kindness at all times. Thanks to all the professional team at Indigo Be and ENHORABONAAAAAAAAA Jaume "per la feina ben feta". A hug! !!!!
Elisabeth Segui EXPEDICIÓN BAOBAB
A unique, surprising and unforgettable island
Madagascar sounds a bit like an animated film and impossible animals. But it's true, and it's also an island-country that doesn't attract many tourists, oozing African sap softened by Asian touches. Descend a river between jungle canyons and sleep on its crocodile-protected beaches; sink into the jungle and listen to the sounds of its most characteristic animals, the lemurs; dive among tropical fish with the sound of humpback whales in the background ; take a sunset stroll along an avenue lined with giant baobabs; discover impressive rock formations in the shape of thousands of needles; taste seafood seasoned with French-influenced flavors; or simply stroll along a beach waiting for the fishermen to arrive. All this is Madagascar. Madagascar promises relaxation, adventure and exoticism... and Indigo Be delivers just that! Thank you for being wonderful hosts on this unique, surprising and unforgettable island.
Antonia Rubio EXPEDICIÓN BAOBAB
Experiences that will remain engraved in my memory.
Between shady jungles, deep rocky canyons and red clay moors, I discovered sites and experiences that will stay with me for the rest of my life. And what better way to do so than with local experts like Indigo Be.
