Why choose an organised trip to Madagascar?

The island’s poor communications and road infrastructure are not ideal for independent travel, as it is very difficult to find public transport that meets minimum safety and comfort standards or adheres to timetables and routes.

In addition, there is the vastness of the island and the difficulty of knowing where and how to get there, coupled with the language barrier (almost 90% of the population can only speak Malagasy) and the logistical problems of reaching the most remote places, where the most popular spots in Madagascar are usually hidden.

Having the support and daily updates (bridges collapse, roads are cut off, etc.) from a travel agency located in Madagascar will allow us to save time (and ultimately money) and ensure safety, efficiency, and comfort in all cases. In addition, we will be able to gain privileged insight into the local Malagasy culture thanks to the knowledge of our guides, who will accompany us to the most traditional ceremonies and the most secret events in each village.

Our itinerary for organising a trip to Madagascar

From the moment you arrive at the international airport, you will feel accompanied by our team at all times, with our guides facilitating communication with the local population and helping you discover the mysteries of our island.

Visits to national parks and reserves will always be scheduled at the best times for wildlife viewing and also to encounter the fewest number of people. Walking tours in national parks are always conducted with respect for the environment and with the utmost care to ensure that our passage leaves no trace, so as not to alter the modus vivendi of the various endemic species found on the island.

Visits to zoos or pseudo-reserves that keep animals in captivity or mistreat them (changing their habits) for commercial gain will never be scheduled. Instead, visits will only be made to places accredited by environmental conservation associations (such as national parks or private reserves) where animals are completely free.

Cultural exchange with the different ethnic groups that populate the country will also be constant in villages and towns that live in an ancestral way and where we will be able to interact until we feel like one of them, thanks to the invaluable work of our guides.

What do our organised trips include?

Our organised trips to Madagascar always include Spanish-speaking guides (staff members, not freelancers) who may be Malagasy or Spanish residents on the island, but who always speak Spanish and the local languages.

It also always includes private transport (we have our own fleet of vehicles), professional drivers (it is not easy to drive on the island’s roads and they always make the difficult easy), entrance fees to parks and reserves (avoiding surprises, waiting times and cancellations), the most interesting visits possible (at any stage of an Indigo Be organised trip to Madagascar there are many pleasant surprises), and accommodation in the best hotels and lodges in each location, always guaranteeing availability and a minimum standard that meets European standards.

Benefits of booking in advance

Este es uno de los principales consejos que damos siempre a todos los viajeros interesados en viajar a Madagascar.

The country’s limited tourist infrastructure and growing demand for organised trips to Madagascar means that it is necessary to book well in advance (approximately one year) to secure rooms in the best accommodation, vehicles, guides, as well as availability on domestic flights and the best fares or discounts.

Contact our experts in organised trips

At Indigo Be, we have a large team of Spanish tourism professionals who have been living in Madagascar for many years (some for more than 20), combined with efficient Malagasy staff who speak Spanish. Sergi, Nadia, Sylvia, Jaume, Sophie, Fabiola, Meritxell, our valuable guides and excellent drivers… all of them attentive to the traveller’s needs, so that together we can design what will possibly be the trip of a lifetime.
